Interesting Facts about True Hauntings
True Hauntings Blog
Cynthia Seer began the True Hauntings Blog on Jan 1st, 2020 as a way to share her experiences growing up around her grandparents extremely haunted house in St. Augustine, Fl. She didn’t initially intend to write fictional horror stories. She happened to share the first short story she’d ever written (ten years prior) and it was very well received. That story was Innocence Taken.
True Hauntings Facebook Group
Cynthia Seer began the Facebook Group just a couple of months after beginning the blog in order to build a community of like-minded, spooky people. The group grew to roughly 400 members by mid 2020 and was a great success! Cynthia still very much enjoys interacting with her followers in that Facebook Group, which boasts roughly 2,600 members and growing!
Parade of Nightmares published book
As the blog and FB group gained momentum, followers began to request a published book of short horror stories. The idea for Parade of Nightmares came to Cynthia in the shower, of all places! The book was published through Amazon on Oct 1st of 2020 and is still available today.
True Hauntings & Scary Stories podcast
After the book published successfully, followers began to call for a podcast. Cynthia was reluctant because of her mild dyslexia but was eventually convinced in early 2021. The podcast launched on April 15th, 2021 and was an immediate success! Some episodes are about true ghost stories while others are Cynthia reading her own short scary stories. It is still running today and can be found on all major podcast apps.
Hosts of the Podcast
The hosts of the show were originally meant to be Cynthia and her younger sister, Tina. However, Tina found it to be too much so another younger sister, Brick, stepped in. She remained for the better part of a year before she, too, had to step down. At that point, Cindy held an audition so listeners of the show could co-host an episode so she could pick the best fit. It was through this process that she found her current and longest running co-host, Kat. The banter between these two ladies is spooky and sassy!
Support The Show!
Many followers ask how they can support the show financially. The True Hauntings Etsy Store is a great way to buy spooky items and support the show. At this time, that’s the only way to financially support True Hauntings since the show is currently taking an extended break while Cindy helps her husband endure treatments for Colon Cancer. When/if Cindy begins creating content again, there may be other opportunities. Until then, enjoy the archived episodes and subscribe to this blog so you don’t miss any stories or experiences Cindy might post about. Thank you!
